Agua Limpa is a greenfield development which is under the direct management control of Clean Energy Brazil. The Agua Limpa project is located in Santa Fé de Goiás, in the Goiás state. Last year the site obtained the environmental permits for the construction of a sugar cane mill and ethanol distillery.
The unit is expected to come into operation after the 2010/11 crop season. The total cane crushing capacity is estimated at 2.0 million tonnes and initially the unit will only be distilling ethanol. The construction of the unit is subject to additional funding.
